Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-0393)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
A denial of service vulnerability in libvpx in Mediaserver could enable a remote attacker to use a specially crafted file to cause a device hang or reboot. This issue is rated as High due to the possibility of remote denial of service. Product: Android. Versions: 4.4.4, 5.0.2, 5.1.1, 6.0, 6.0.1, 7.0, 7.1. Android ID: A-30436808.
2) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9232)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a missing bounds check when processing media content in libvpx. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9433)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input when processing media content in libvpx. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted file to the application and gain access to sensitive information.
4) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-0034)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation when processing files. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
