This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1493)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

An information disclosure vulnerability exists when attaching files to Outlook messages. This vulnerability could potentially allow users to share attached files such that they are accessible by anonymous users where they should be restricted to specific users.


2) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1483)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing files in an email. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
