Description

This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) XML External Entity injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-12415)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied XML input when using the tool XSSFExportToXml to convert user-provided Microsoft Excel documents. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted XML code to the affected application and read files from the local filesystem or from internal network resources on the system or initiate requests to external systems.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to view contents of arbitrary file on the server or perform network scanning of internal and external infrastructure.

2) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-17359)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform DoS attack on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due memory leak in the ASN.1 parser. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted ASN.1 data and cause an OutOfMemoryError and perform denial of service attack.

3) XML External Entity injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-0188)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform XXE attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to usage of a third-party JSON-lib library vulnerable to XML external entity injection attacks. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to the affected application and read contents of arbitrary file on the system.

4) Insufficiently protected credentials (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-12423)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access ti sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to the application allows a client to obtain the keys from a JWK keystore file, by setting the configuration parameter "rs.security.keystore.type" to "jwk". A remote non-authenticated attacker can obtain all private key and secret key credentials and gain unauthorized access to the application.

5) Incorrect default permissions (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1945)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to Apache Ant is using a default temporary directory identified by the Java system property java.io.tmpdir for several tasks and may thus leak sensitive information. The fixcrlf and replaceregexp tasks also copy files from the temporary directory back into the build tree allowing an attacker to inject modified source files into the build process. A local user with access to the system can view contents of files and directories or modify them.

6) XML External Entity injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-13990)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to conduct an XML External Entity (XXE) attack on a targeted system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied XML input in the "initDocumentParser" function in the "xml/XMLSchedulingDataProcessor.java" file. A remote authenticated attacker can submit a malicious job description to the targeted system and conduct an XXE attack.
