Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Deserialization of Untrusted Data (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-9546)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to insecure input validation when processing serialized data between serialization gadgets and typing. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

Note: This vulnerability is related to:

  • org.apache.hadoop.shaded.com.zaxxer.hikari.HikariConfig (aka shaded hikari-config)

2) Desereliazation of untrusted data (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-1000031)

The vulnerability allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The weakness exists in DiskFileItem class of the FileUpload library due to deserialization of untrusted data. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code under the context of the current process.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.
