The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dreference error in IPC socket code. The Samsung ID is SVE-2016-5980 (July 2016). A remote attacker can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
