Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Cleartext transmission of sensitive information (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-7968)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to software uses insecure communication channel to transmit sensitive information. A remote attacker with ability to intercept network traffic can gain access to sensitive data.
2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-7957)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted file and crash the affected application.
3) Incorrect default permissions (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-7958)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to incorrect default permissions for files and folders that are set by the application. A local user with access to the system can view contents of files and directories or modify them.
4) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-7959)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing files. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
