Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-17098)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to heap-based buffer overflow in WavFileBase class in WavFile.cpp in in Olli Parviainen SoundTouch. A remote attacker can send specially crafted input, trigger memory corruption and cause the application exit, as demonstrated by SoundStretch.
2) Assertion failure (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-17096)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to assertion failure in BPMDetect class in BPMDetect.cpp in libSoundTouch.a in Olli Parviainen SoundTouch. A remote attacker can send specially crafted input and cause the application exit, as demonstrated by SoundStretch.
3) Double-free error (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-17097)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to double-free error in WavFileBase class in WavFile.cpp in Olli Parviainen SoundTouch. A remote attacker can send specially crafted input and cause the application exit, as demonstrated by SoundStretch.
