Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8565)
The vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to component improper providing of kernel information by the win32k component. A local attacker can run a specially crafted application and gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.
2) Privilege escalation (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8562)
The vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain elevated privileges on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of objects in memory by the win32k component. A local attacker can run a specially crafted application and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges
