1) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8330)

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of objects in memory by the Windows kernel. A local attacker can run a specially crafted application, trigger memory corruption and gain access to potentially sensitive information.


2) Privilege escalation (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8497)

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain elevated privileges on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of objects in memory by the Windows kernel. A local attacker can run a specially crafted application and execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges.
