Description
This security bulletin contains information about 9 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8473)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when Microsoft Edge improperly accesses objects in memory. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8509)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when Microsoft Edge improperly accesses objects in memory. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8512)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of certain specially crafted documents by the Edge Content Security Policy (CSP). A remote attacker can trick the victim into loading a page containing malicious content and bypass security restrictions to conduct further attacks.
4) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8530)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of requests of different origins by Microsoft Edge. A remote attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website, bypass Same-Origin Policy (SOP) restrictions, allow requests that should otherwise be ignored and possibly force the browser to send data that would otherwise be restricted.
5) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8503)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when the Chakra scripting engine handles objects in memory in Microsoft Edge. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
6) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8505)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when the Chakra scripting engine handles objects in memory in Microsoft Edge. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
7) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8510)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when the Chakra scripting engine handles objects in memory in Microsoft Edge. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
8) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8511)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when the Chakra scripting engine handles objects in memory in Microsoft Edge. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
9) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8513)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when the Chakra scripting engine handles objects in memory in Microsoft Edge. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
