Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8267)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of objects in memory in Internet Explorer by the scripting engine. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8249)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to an error when Internet Explorer improperly accesses objects in memory. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-0978)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to an error when Internet Explorer improperly accesses objects in memory. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Security restrictions bypass (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8113)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to unspecified error in Internet Explorer. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website, bypass Mark of the Web Tagging (MOTW) and perform arbitrary actions that are not allowed.
