Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-0287)
The vulnerability allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The weakness exists due to a design flaw. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening an email attachment or link to a specially crafted ARF file and execute arbitrary code.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.
2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-0288)
The vulnerability allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information.
The weakness exists due to a design flaw. A remote attacker can utilize a specially crafted file that can bypass checks in the code and enable to read memory from outside the bounds of the mapped file.
3) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-0264)
The vulnerability allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The weakness exists due to improper input validation. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a link or email attachment with a specially crafted ARF file and execute arbitrary code.
