Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-17760)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition or execute arbitrary code on the target system. The weakness exists due to buffer overflow in the cv::PxMDecoder::readData function in grfmt_pxm.cpp when an incorrect size value is used. A remote attacker can supply specially crafted image, trigger memory corruption and cause the service to crash or execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.
2) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-1000450)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition or execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The weakness exists due to integer overflow in opencv/modules/imgcodecs/src/utils.cpp when functions FillUniColor and FillUniGray do not check the input length. A remote attacker can supply specially crafted image, trigger memory corruption and cause the service to crash or execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.
