This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Security restrictions bypass (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-0907)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass certain security restrictions.

The vulnerability exists in in Microsoft Office software by not enforcing macro settings on an Excel document. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted Excel document and change default behavior of Microsoft Excel.

2) Out-of-bouds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-0919)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing Microsoft Office files. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted Microsoft Office file, trick the victim into opening it and view content of memory out of buffer bounds.


3) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-0922)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to boundary error when processing Microsoft Office files. A remote unauthenticated attacker can create a specially crafted Microsoft Office file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
