Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-14461)
The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information or cause DoS condition on the target system.
The weakness exists due to improper parsing of crafted email messages. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted email message over SMTP, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read and gain access to potentially sensitive information or cause the service to crash.
2) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-15130)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to excessive memory usage. A remote attacker can cause the service to crash.
3) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-15132)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.The weakness exists due to improper memory handling when the software aborts a Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) authentication process. A remote attacker can reuse log-in processes to trigger a memory leak, consume excessive amounts of memory resources and cause the service to crash.
