Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-15707)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to the REST Plugin is using an outdated JSON-lib library, which is vulnerable to DoS attack. A remote attacker can send a request with specially crafted JSON payload and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) Deserialization of untrusted data (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7525)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.The weakness exists due to a deserialization flaw in the jackson-databind component. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted input to the readValue method of the ObjectMapper and execute arbitrary code with privileges of the target service.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.
