Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-14248)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in A heap-based buffer over-read in SampleImage() in MagickCore/resize.c in ImageMagick 7.0.6-8 Q16. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service via a crafted file.
2) Division by zero (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-14249)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a division by zero error within . A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and crash it.
3) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-14224)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in A heap-based buffer overflow in WritePCXImage in coders/pcx.c in ImageMagick 7.0.6-8 Q16. A remote attacker can use a crafted file. to trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-13131)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to memory leak within the function ReadMIFFImage in coders/miff.c. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack via a a crafted file.
5) Reachable Assertion (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-13132)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
In ImageMagick 7.0.6-8, the WritePDFImage function in coders/pdf.c operates on an incorrect data structure in the "dump uncompressed PseudoColor packets" step, which allows attackers to cause a denial of service (assertion failure in WriteBlobStream in MagickCore/blob.c) via a crafted file.
6) Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-13133)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
In ImageMagick 7.0.6-8, the load_level function in coders/xcf.c lacks offset validation, which allows attackers to cause a denial of service (load_tile memory exhaustion) via a crafted file.
