Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-8561)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of object in memory in Windows kernel. A local user can execute arbitrary code on the target system with elevated privileges.
2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-8564)
The vulnerability allows a local user to obtain potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to Windows kernel fails to properly initialize a memory address. A local user can obtain information that could lead to a Kernel Address Space Layout Randomization (KASLR) bypass.
