Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-10794)

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to buffer overflow in the coders/tiff.c source code. A local attacker can supply a malicious RGB TIFF picture, trigger buffer overflow and cause the service to crash.

2) Buffer over-read (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-10799)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service attack.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read that occurs in ReadDPXImage() when processing DPX images with large width in metadata.

3) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-10800)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing MATLAB images in ReadMATImage() function in coders/mat.c. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted image with size for a MAT Object grater than the actual amount of data, pass it to the affected application, trigger memory corruption and crash the application.
