Description

This security bulletin contains information about 7 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Division by zero (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-10266)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to divide-by-zero error within LibTIFF 4.0.7. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service (divide-by-zero error and application crash) via a crafted TIFF image, related to libtiff/tif_read.c:351:22.

2) Division by zero (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-10267)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to divide-by-zero error within LibTIFF 4.0.7. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service (divide-by-zero error and application crash) via a crafted TIFF image, related to libtiff/tif_ojpeg.c:816:8.

3) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-10268)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.

The weakness exists due to integer underflow and heap-based buffer under-read. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted TIFF image, related to "READ of size 78490" and libtiff/tif_unix.c:115:23, trigger memory corruption and cause the service to crash.

4) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-10269)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in LibTIFF 4.0.7. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service (heap-based buffer over-read) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted TIFF image, related to "READ of size 512" and libtiff/tif_unix.c:340:2.

5) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-10270)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in LibTIFF 4.0.7. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service (heap-based buffer over-read) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted TIFF image, related to "READ of size 8" and libtiff/tif_read.c:523:22.

6) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-10271)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in tools/tiffcrop.c in LibTIFF 4.0.7. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service (heap-based buffer over-read and buffer overflow) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted TIFF image, related to "READ of size 1" and libtiff/tif_fax3.c:413:13.

7) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-10272)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in LibTIFF 4.0.7. A remote attacker can use a crafted TIFF image to trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
