Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-8630)

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.

The weakness exists in the x86_decode_insn function in arch/x86/kvm/emulate.c due to NULL pointer dereference when KVM is enabled. A local attacker can cause the service to crash via a certain use of a ModR/M byte in an undefined instruction.

2) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-8655)

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the packet_setsockopt() and packet_set_ring() functions in net/packet/af_packet.c. A local user can execute arbitrary code.

3) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-9083)

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within the vfio_msi_enable() function in drivers/vfio/pci/vfio_pci_intrs.c, within the vfio_pci_ioctl() function in drivers/vfio/pci/vfio_pci.c. A local user can execute arbitrary code.

4) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-9084)

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within the vfio_msi_enable() function in drivers/vfio/pci/vfio_pci_intrs.c, within the vfio_pci_ioctl() function in drivers/vfio/pci/vfio_pci.c. A local user can execute arbitrary code.
