Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2015-5198)
The vulnerability allows a local non-authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code.
libvdpau before 1.1.1, when used in a setuid or setgid application, allows local users to gain privileges via unspecified vectors, related to the VDPAU_DRIVER_PATH environment variable.
2) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2015-5199)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences in dlopen in libvdpau before 1.1.1. A remote authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and local users to gain privileges via the VDPAU_DRIVER environment variable.
3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2015-5200)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to #BASIC_IMPACT#.
The trace functionality in libvdpau before 1.1.1, when used in a setuid or setgid application, allows local users to write to arbitrary files via unspecified vectors.
