Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Security restrictions bypass (CVE-ID: CVE-2015-3290)

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to security restrictions bypass within the entry() function in arch/x86/entry/entry_64.s. A local user can execute arbitrary code.

2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2015-3291)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S on the x86_64 platform. A local user can cause a denial of service (skipped NMI) by modifying the rsp register, issuing a syscall instruction, and triggering an NMI.

3) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2015-1333)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to memory leak within the __key_link_end function in security/keys/keyring.c in the Linux kernel before 4.1.4 allows local users to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via many add_key system calls that refer to existing keys. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.
