Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2014-0498)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system. The weakness exists due to stack-based buffer overflow when processing .swf files. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted Web site, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with privileges of the current user.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in arbitrary code execution on the vulnerable system.
2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2014-0499)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system. The weakness exists due to memory leak error when processing .swf files. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted Web page, trick the victim into visiting it, bypass the ASLR protection mechanism and defeat memory address layout randomization.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in information disclosure on the vulnerable system.
Note: the vulnerability was being actively exploited.
3) Double free (CVE-ID: CVE-2014-0502)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system. The weakness exists due to double free error when processing .swf files. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted Web site, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with privileges of the current user.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in arbitrary code execution on the vulnerable system.
Note: the vulnerability was being actively exploited.
