Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4473)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the extractPages function in utils/pdfseparate.cc when processing a source filename. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4474)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform service disruption.

Format string vulnerability in the extractPages function in utils/pdfseparate.cc in poppler before 0.24.3 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via format string specifiers in a destination filename.

3) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-7296)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform service disruption.

The JBIG2Stream::readSegments method in JBIG2Stream.cc in Poppler before 0.24.5 does not use the correct specifier within a format string, which allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (segmentation fault and application crash) via a crafted PDF file.
