Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 security vulnerability.
1) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2013-1819)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error in fs/xfs/xfs_buf.c in the Linux kernel before 3.7.6 does not validate block numbers, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and system crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact by leveraging the ability to mount an XFS filesystem containing a metadata inode with an invalid extent map. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
Remediation
Cybersecurity Help is not aware of any official remediation provided by the vendor.
