Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2012-1798)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to perform denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition within the coders/tiff.c function in ImageMagick before 6.7.6-3 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read and crash) via a crafted EXIF IFD file. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger out-of-bounds read error and crash the affected application.

2) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2012-0259)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The GetEXIFProperty function in magick/property.c in ImageMagick before 6.7.6-3 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a zero value in the component count of an EXIF XResolution tag in a JPEG file, which triggers an out-of-bounds read.

3) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2012-0260)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The JPEGWarningHandler function in coders/jpeg.c in ImageMagick before 6.7.6-3 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a JPEG image with a crafted sequence of restart markers.
