Kosovar national pleads guilty to operating BlackDB cybercrime marketplace

Liridon Masurica, 33, of Gjilan, Kosovo, also known online as “@blackdb,” has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit access device fraud in connection with his role as the lead administrator of the BlackDB.cc criminal marketplace. Masurica faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in a US prison. A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.

According to court documents, Masurica operated BlackDB.cc from 2018 until its takedown in 2025. The website was used by cybercriminals worldwide to buy and sell stolen data, including compromised account credentials, server logins, credit card information, and other personally identifiable information (PII).

Authorities say that data purchased through BlackDB.cc enabled a range of criminal activity, such as tax fraud, credit card fraud, and identity theft. The platform functioned as a black-market hub for cybercriminals, providing tools and information essential for exploiting stolen data on a large scale.

Masurica was arrested in Kosovo on December 12, 2024, following a coordinated international investigation involving US federal law enforcement and Kosovar authorities. He was extradited to the United States under the existing extradition treaty between the US and the Republic of Kosovo.
