Operations at hundreds of independent bookstores across Belgium, the Netherlands and France have been crippled following a ransomware attack that encrypted the IT systems of TiteLive, a French company that operates a SaaS platform for book sales and inventory management.
According to the local media reports, bookstores affected by the TiteLive ransomware attack kept working but were forced to enter their sales manually as they lost access to their billing and inventory systems.
Following the cyberattack, which took place on September 27, TiteLive shut down its systems to prevent the spread of the ransomware and isolated all affected Widows servers. This led to a days-long downtime of MediaLog, TiteLive’s automated solution for sales, ordering advice, purchasing and receipts, which is used in more than 1000 stores in France and the Benelux.
At the time of writing, there is no information about what ransomware gang was responsible for the cyberattack, or a ransom demanded.
