Brazilian National Treasury has been attacked with ransomware, said the Brazilian government in oficial statement. All initial measures to protect against cyberattack consequences were immediately taken.
Structuring systems of the National Treasury (platforms relating to public debt administration) have not been damaged by the attack. Security specialists from the National Treasury and the Digital Government Secretariat are conducting the investigation.
According to the government, the ransomware attack did not impact the operations of Tesouro Direto (a program that enables the purchase of Brazilian government bonds by individuals).
The Federal Police has also been notified about the situation. The Ministry will disclose more information about the incident "in a timely manner and with due transparency".
