Russian hackers leaked one million stolen credit cards to promote carding market

New Russian-speaking criminal cybergang All World Cards leaked in the dark web one million stolen credit cards for free to promote a criminal carding marketplace. According to the forum post, these credit cards were stolen between 2018 and 2019.

According to Italian cybersecurity firm D3Labs, 50% of the cards are still active. Researchers from Cyble also checked the credit card dump and said, that the leak includes credit card numbers, expiration dates, CVVs, names, countries, states, cities, addresses, zip codes for each credit card, email, and phone numbers.

Among 400,000 analyzed cards, 44,654 cards were from the State Bank of India. 27,440 cards from JPMorgan Chase bank, 21,624 cards from BBVA Bancomer, 14,647 cards from the Toronto-Dominion Bank, and 14,066 cards from the Poste Italiane Sp A. (Banco Posta).

Carding is a form of credit card fraud in which a stolen credit card is used to charge prepaid cards. Carding typically involves the holder of the stolen card purchasing store-branded gift cards, which can then be sold to others or used to purchase other goods that can be sold for cash. Credit card thieves who are involved in this type of fraud are called “carders.”
