French authorities dismantle dark web marketplace Le Monde Parallèle

Large French-speaking dark web platform Le Monde Parallèle has been disrupted as a result of an operation conducted by the National Directorate of Intelligence and Customs Investigations (DNRED) that lasted several months.

Active since early 2020, Le Monde Parallèle has been offering for sale various illicit products and services like drugs, forged documents, stolen credit card data, weapons, and other goods.

The French police have conducted raids in Paris and in the Metz region, which resulted in the arrest of two alleged platform’s administrators and the seizure of various computer equipment used to maintain Le Monde Parallèle, false documents, bank cards and prepaid cards, and several thousand euros in cryptocurrency.

Le Monde Parallèle is the third major French platform dismantled in the last four years. In 2018, the French authorities took down one of the largest illegal dark web marketplaces “Black Hand” known for selling drugs, weapons, databases, stolen banking data and fake documents, and a year later the French Deep Web Market marketplace suffered the same fate.
